GTEP champions the dignity, rights, and well-being of transgender, nonbinary, and veteran communities through research, policy, and advocacy that drive systemic change. We work to close data gaps, advance health and HIV equity, and create inclusive environments where every individual is seen, valued, and empowered to thrive.

Research & Data Equity
We generate and protect data that centers transgender, nonbinary (TGNC), and veteran voices—filling critical gaps left by traditional research systems. Through evidence-based studies, data analysis, and community-driven research, GTEP informs equitable policies and programs that reflect the realities of those most impacted by health inequities and HIV.
Policy & Advocacy for Equity
We translate data into action. GTEP drives systemic reform through policy development, advocacy training, and national collaborations that advance inclusive legislation and institutional change. Through initiatives like the Policy & Safety Institute, we serve as a clearinghouse for TGNC and veteran health data, ensuring visibility, safety, and accountability.
Narrative & Leadership Transformation
We shift culture through storytelling and representation. GTEP leverages media, art, and lived experience to change the way the world sees transgender and veteran communities. We cultivate leaders, elevate authentic voices, and challenge stigma through campaigns, panels, and programs that center conscious love and truth..
Technology & Innovation for Access
We harness the power of technology to advance equity. Through projects like AI for AI (Access & Innovation), GTEP integrates artificial intelligence, digital tools, and community partnerships to identify, refer, test, and link individuals to stigma-free, affirming care—creating scalable solutions for real-world impact.
GTEP History
GTEP was created in 2023 to close the gaps that persist in research, policy, and advocacy for transgender, nonbinary (TGNC), and veteran communities—particularly those most impacted by health inequities, HIV, and systemic discrimination. Guided by the belief that equity must be both data-driven and humanity-centered, GTEP combines evidence-based research, community engagement, and storytelling to drive systemic change.
